INCEPTION is an Erasmus+ Forward-Looking project that connects established Centres of Vocational Excellence into a unified, transnational framework - strengthening cooperation, recognition, and innovation across European vocational education and training (VET).
A CoVE is a hub of excellence for vocational education, bringing together training providers, industry, and research to respond to local skills needs while operating within an international network. INCEPTION's founding CoVEs specialise in manufacturing, artificial intelligence, green skills, water-sector VET, and SME innovation.

The core output is the Excellence Toolbox: a unified Quality & Recognition Framework, an AI Innovation Toolbox, a Best Practices Manual, and Cooperation Playbooks - all designed to align with EQF, ESCO, and the Pact for Skills.
INCEPTION runs for 36 months (April 2026 – March 2029) and is co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Forward-Looking Projects strand, delivered through five core Work Packages.
